MEF Ortaokulu Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları bölümünde, öğrencilerimizin;

• Müziğe yönelik olumlu tutum sergilemeleri, müziği sevmeleri ve yaşamlarına katmaları,
• Ulusal Marşımızı doğru ve güzel söylemeleri,
• İlgi ve yeteneklerine göre bir enstrüman çalmaları; kendi seslerini sevmeleri ve kullanmaları,
• Müziğin temel kavramlarını tanımaları,
• Müziksel işitme ve ritim duygularının gelişmesi,
• Bireysel ve toplu olarak bağımsız iş yapabilme alışkanlığı (solo-koro etkinliklerle) geliştirmeleri,
• Estetik beğeni düzeylerini geliştirerek, iyi bir dinleyici olmaları,
• Yerel, ulusal ve evrensel müzik kültürünü, bestecileri ve eserlerini tanımaları,

amaçlanmaktadır.

Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Bölümünde öğrencilerimizin aşağıda yer alan hedeflere ulaşması beklenmektedir.

• Öğrenci merkezli uygulama çalışmaları yapmak ve bunları sergilemek.
• Müzik yoluyla öğrencinin kendini ifade edebilmesi, bireysel ve toplu iş yapabilme becerisi kazandırmak. 
• İlgi ve isteklerine göre öğrencilerin yeteneklerini geliştirmek. 
• Bağımsız olarak bir eseri dinleyebilmek -izleyip- eser hakkında duygu ve düşüncelerini ifade edebilmek. 
• Hayal gücünü ve bağımsız olarak müzikal anlamda yaratıcılıklarını geliştirmek. 

Öğrencilerimiz ilkokul düzeyinde müzik genel kültürü ve temel müzik bilgilerinden oluşan programla müzik eğitimi alırlar. Bu eğitimi geliştirmek ve ortaokulda uzmanlaşacağı müzik dalını belirlemek amacıyla 4. sınıfta branş eğitimine başlarlar. Koro, Keman, Gitar, Perküsyon, Çello, Bateri ve Pop Orkestra, branşlarına derslerine devam ederler. 4. sınıfta haftada 1 ders saati ile başlayan müzik branş dersleri, ortaokulda haftada 2 ders saati olarak devam eder.

Öğrencilerimize her yıl kulak taraması ve müzik branş dersi değerlendirmesi yapılır. Öğrencilerimizin enstrüman gelişim süreçleri her dönem sonunda değerlendirilerek, başarı gösteren öğrenciler bir sonraki sınıfta enstrümanına daha ileri seviyeli bir eğitim planlamasıyla farklılaşmış eğitim alarak devam ederler. Her yıl sonunda eğitim aldıkları branşta sunum yaparlar.

In MEF Secondary School Music and Performing Arts department, we aim our students to;

• Have a positive attitude towards music, love music and incorporate it into their lives,
• Sing our National Anthem correctly and beautifully,
• Play an instrument according to their interests and abilities; enjoy and use their own voice,
• Recognize the basic concepts of music,
• Develop their musical hearing and sense of rhythm,
• Develop the habit of doing independent work individually and collectively (with solo-choral activities),
• Become a good listener by improving their aesthetic appreciation,
• Recognize local, national and universal music culture, composers and their works.

In line with these objectives, our students in the Department of Music and Performing Arts are expected to achieve the following goals;

• To make student-centered application studies and exhibit them.
• To enable students to express themselves through music, to gain the ability to work individually and collectively.
• To develop students’ talents according to their interests and desires.
• To be able to listen to a work independently – to watch it – to express their feelings and thoughts about the work.
• To develop their imagination and musical creativity independently.

Our students receive music education at primary school level with a program consisting of music general culture and basic music knowledge. In order to improve this education and determine the branch of music they will specialize in middle school, they start branch education in 4th grade. They continue their lessons in Choir, Violin, Guitar, Percussion, Cello, Drum and Pop Orchestra branches. In 4th grade, music branch lessons start with 1 class hour per week and continue with 2 class hours per week in middle school.

Our students are subjected to ear screening and music branch lesson evaluation every year. The instrument development processes of our students are evaluated at the end of each semester and successful students continue their instruments with further education planning and differentiated education in the next grade. At the end of each year, they make a presentation in the branch they are trained in.
