Uluslararası Bakalorya Programı

Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı (IBDP), 1960’lardan bu yana dünya çapında 157 ülkede, 5.175 okulda uygulanmakta olan üniversite öncesi iki yıllık bir eğitim programıdır. Program, dünyanın önde gelen üniversitelerinden kabul ve saygı görmektedir.

MEF Okulları, 1998 yılından bu yana Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programını uygulamaya yetkilendirilmiş bir “IB Dünya Okulu”dur. MEF Lisesi öğrencilerine ulusal diplomanın yanı sıra Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploması alma fırsatı da sunar.

Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı okulumuzda 11 ve 12. sınıflarda uygulanmakta olup öğrencilerimizi, akademik olarak zorlayıcı bir müfredat ile üniversite ve sonrasındaki yaşamlarında başarılı olmaya hazırlayan; giderek küreselleşen bir toplumda onları aktif katılımcılar olarak yetiştirmeyi hedeflemektedir.

Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı, disiplinlerarası, kültürel, ulusal ve coğrafi sınırları aşan ve eleştirel katılımı, ufuk açıcı fikirleri ve etkin ilişkileri öne çıkaracak şekilde planlanan her biri farklı seçenekler içeren altı ana ders grubu ve Bilgi Kuramı ( TOK), Yaratıcılık-Aksiyon-Servis (CAS) ve Bitirme Tezi(EXTENDED ESSAY)nden oluşan çekirdek dersleri kapsar. IB Programını seçen öğrenciler, İleri (HL) ve Standart (SL) olmak üzere iki farklı seviyede sunulan seçenek içerisinden altı ders seçerler. Diploma Programı sayesinde öğrencilerimiz, henüz lisedeyken tez, ödev, deneme yazısı yazma, deney raporu yazma, sözlü sunum ve derinlemesine araştırma yapma konusunda kendini geliştirme fırsatı bulur.

Uluslararası Bakalorya, kültürlerarası anlayış ve saygı ile daha iyi ve daha barışçıl bir dünya oluşturulmasına yardımcı olacak araştıran-sorgulayan, bilgili ve duyarlı genç insanlar yetiştirmeyi amaçlar. Bu amaca yönelik olarak kuruluş, yeni ufuklar açıcı uluslararası eğitim programları ve titiz değerlendirme yöntemleri geliştirmek amacıyla okullar, devletler ve uluslararası kuruluşlarla çalışmaktadır. Bu programlar, dünya genelinde öğrencileri, diğer insanların da farklılıklarıyla haklı olabileceğini anlayan, etkin, şefkatli ve yaşam boyu öğrenmeye inanan bireyler olmaya teşvik eder.

MEF Okulları eğitiminin temelini oluşturan bu yol gösterici bildirgeyi IB felsefesiyle örtüştürerek IB Programlarının ortak hedefi olan evrensel kişilik özelliklerine sahip Dünya İnsanını yetiştirmekteyiz.

Neden IB DP?

Uluslararası Bakalorya Diploma Programı öğrencileri, program dâhilindeki derslerini işlerken hem IB Diploması için hem de Milli Eğitim Diploması için gerekli koşulları yerine getirmiş olurlar. IB sınavlarında başarılı olan öğrenciler liseden mezun olurken ulusal ve uluslararası geçerliliği olan iki diploma almaya hak kazanmaktadırlar.
Yurt dışında da birçok üniversiteye giriş imkânını elde edebilir ve bazı üniversiteler IB de aldıkları bazı derslerden Diploma Programı mezunlarını muaf tutulabilirler. Programı yüksek bir dereceyle bitiren bir öğrenci, uluslararası üniversitelerde kısmi veya tam burs alma hakkına da sahip olabilir.
Yurt içinde birçok özel üniversite IB Diploma notuna göre öğrenciye burs imkânları sunmakta ve bölümler arası geçiş kolaylığı sağlamaktadır.
IB eğitimi, öğrencilerin kendi bakış açıları, kültürleri, kimlikleri ve ardından da diğerlerininkiler üzerinde dönüşümlü düşünme yapmalarına yardımcı olarak uluslararası bilinç oluşturur.

IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year pre-university education programme that has been implemented in 5,175 schools in 157 countries around the world since the 1960s. The programme is accepted and respected by the world’s leading universities.

MEF Schools is an “IB World School” authorised to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme since 1998. MEF High School offers its students the opportunity to obtain the International Baccalaureate Diploma as well as the national diploma.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is implemented in grades 11 and 12 at our school and aims to prepare our students for success at university and beyond through an academically challenging curriculum and to raise them as active participants in an increasingly globalised society.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme consists of six main course groups, each with different options, and core courses, including Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity-Action-Service (CAS), and the Senior Thesis (EXTENDED ESSAY), which are interdisciplinary, cross cultural, national and geographical boundaries, and are planned to emphasise critical engagement, stimulating ideas and effective relationships. Students who choose the IB Programme choose six courses from a choice of two different levels, Advanced (HL) and Standard (SL). Thanks to the Diploma Programme, our students have the opportunity to develop themselves in writing theses, assignments, essays, experimental reports, oral presentations and in-depth research while still in high school.

IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who will help build a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organisation works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop seminal international education programmes and rigorous assessment methods. Why IB DP?

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students fulfil the requirements for both the IB Diploma and the National Education Diploma while studying the courses within the programme. Students who are successful in IB exams are entitled to receive two diplomas with national and international validity when graduating from high school.

They can also gain entrance to many universities abroad and some universities may exempt graduates of the Diploma Programme from some of the courses taken in the IB. A student who completes the programme with a high degree may also be eligible for partial or full scholarships at international universities.

Many private universities in Turkey offer scholarship opportunities to students according to their IB Diploma grade and provide ease of transfer between departments.

IB education builds international consciousness by helping students reflect on their own perspectives, cultures and identities and then on those of others.

By learning to appreciate different beliefs, values and experiences, and by thinking and collaborating across cultures and disciplines, IB learners gain the understanding necessary for a more peaceful and sustainable world.
