Second Step – Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Program
Recognizing emotions, recognizing one’s own and others’ emotions, being included in the group in which they live, gaining the ability to cope with the problems they face, and managing their emotions and behaviors correctly can be counted as the main topics in the development of social-emotional skills in primary school. In our school, the “Second Step – Social Emotional Learning Program”, which has been prepared in line with these outcomes, is carried out in cooperation with psychological counselors and classroom teachers at all levels.
SEL programs are usually implemented through special lessons, activities, workshops, or projects that are offered to students regularly. Teaching students these skills can not only improve their academic success but also help them build healthier relationships with others and cope with challenges throughout their lives.
Peer Solidarity Project
It is a project carried out by our school’s Psychological Counselors and supported by homeroom teachers. It is carried out for students from different grade levels to get to know each other, to improve social relations within the school, to create school spirit and common awareness among students, to prevent negative behaviors (aggression, violence, etc.) that may arise among students, and to develop responsibility and sharing awareness.
1st grade students are paired with 3rd grade / 2nd grade students are paired with 4th grade students and they are designated as big brothers, big sisters, and siblings. Thus, they experience the feeling of being a sibling and a big brother or sister at the same time. Throughout the year, children are brought together with different activities. They are allowed to mingle by sharing common experiences. Students can also spend time together during breaks if they wish.
TAP Foundation Trainings – Pre-Puberty Trainings

Recognize and develop an understanding of physical and emotional changes In our 4th grade level, together with the TAP Foundation, we provide our students with the opportunity to experience.
