MEF Okulları, bilişim teknolojilerini kullanmayı bir yaşam biçimi haline getiren, çağdaş dünyanın etkin birer üyesi olan, sürekli değişen ve gelişen teknolojiye uyum sağlayabilen, kendini devamlı olarak geliştirebilen dijital vatandaşlar/bireyler yetiştirmeyi amaçlar. Bilişim ve teknoloji eğitimi ortaokul seviyesinde ders ve eğitsel etkinlik çalışmaları ile yürütülür.

Bilişim ve teknoloji eğitiminde öğrencilerimiz, temel bilişim teknolojileri becerilerini kazanmalarının yanında yeni fikirler ve çözümler yaratma, bunları deneme, yeni ürünler üretme, bu ürünler ve süreç ile ilgili rapor ve analiz oluşturmaya yönelik çalışmalar yaparlar. Öğrencilerimiz bu eğitimle tüketici olmaktan fikir ve bilgi paylaşımı yaparak üretici olmaya yöneltilir.

MEF Okullarında kodlama, robotik ve maker eğitimleri anaokulundan başlar ve liseye kadar aşama aşama devam eder. Kodlama ve algoritmik düşünme becerilerinin öğrencilere kazandırılmasına, öğrencilerimizin 21. yüzyıl becerileri ile donatılmış olarak mezun olmasına  önem verilir. Bu nedenle bilişim teknolojileri ders müfredatında, eğitsel etkinlik ve kulüp çalışmalarında kodlama, algoritmik düşünme ve 21. yüzyıl becerileri önemlidir. Öğrencilerin seviyelerine uygun olarak blok programlamadan (lightbot, scratch, code.org, snap vb.) programlama dili (Java, Pyhton, C# vb) öğretimine kadar geniş bir yelpaze sunulur.

MEF Okullarında, Bilişim Teknolojileri alanında ortaokul seviyesinde ders müfredatının dışında pek çok eğitsel etkinlik çalışması mevcuttur. Öğrenciler, Maker’dan, bilgisayar programlamaya, robotikten, drone kullanımı ve kodlamaya, Photoshop’tan animasyon oluşturmaya, film tasarımından görsel tasarıma ilgi alanları doğrultusunda eğitsel etkinlik seçimi yaparak çalışırlar.  Bu çalışmalar sonucunda projeler üretirler. Bu projelerin bir kısmı ile ulusal veya uluslararası çeşitli yarışma ve sergilere katılırlar.

Öğretmenlerimiz, sürekli kendilerini yenileyen bir anlayışla eğitim alırlar. Teknolojik araç ve gereçlerle hazırladıkları materyalleri öğrenme ortamlarında kullanırlar. MEF Tech, bilgisayar laboratuvarları, tablet bilgisayarlar, sınıftaki teknolojik donanımlar aktif bir şekilde kullanılır.

Öğrencilerimizin sınıfta, günlük yaşamda öğrendikleri bilgileri somut ürünlere çevirmelerine ve uygulama yapmalarına olanak vermek amacıyla MEF Okulları Teknoloji ve İnovasyon Merkezi (MEF Tech) kurulmuştur. Öğrencilerimizin öğrenmiş oldukları bilgiler sadece teoride kalmamış olup, öğrencilerimiz öğrendikleri bilgileri pratiğe dökme imkanına sahip olur.

MEF Tech alanı bilişim teknolojileri ders, etkinlik ve kulüp çalışmalarında kullanıldığı gibi; diğer branş öğretmenleri tarafından STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) çalışmaları için de kullanılıyor.

MEF Tech alanı, Makerspace (yaratım atölyeleri), Mac laboratuvarı, kodlama istasyonu, Lego robotik istasyonu, çizgi takip ve sumo robotların bulunduğu robotik istasyonu, Green Box mini stüdyo ve kütüphaneden oluşmaktadır.

MEF Schools aim to raise digital citizens/individuals who make the use of information technologies a way of life, who are active members of the modern world, who can adapt to constantly changing and developing technology, and who can continuously improve themselves. Information and technology education is carried out through lessons and educational activities at the secondary school level.

In information and technology education, our students acquire basic information technology skills, as well as creating new ideas and solutions, testing them, producing new products, creating reports and analyzes about these products and processes. With this education, our students are directed from being consumers to being producers by sharing ideas and information.

At MEF Schools, coding, robotics and maker education starts from kindergarten and continues gradually until high school. It is important that students acquire coding and algorithmic thinking skills and graduate equipped with 21st century skills. For this reason, coding, algorithmic thinking and 21st century skills are important in the information technologies curriculum, educational activities and club activities. A wide range from block programming (lightbot, scratch, code.org, snap, etc.) to programming languages (Java, Pyhton, C#, etc.) is offered in accordance with the level of students.

At MEF Schools, there are many educational activities in the field of Information Technologies at the middle school level outside the curriculum. Students work on Maker, computer programming, robotics, drone use and coding, Photoshop, animation, film design, visual design, etc. by choosing educational activities in line with their interests.  They produce projects as a result of these activities. They participate in various national or international competitions and exhibitions with some of these projects.

Our teachers are trained with an understanding that constantly renews themselves. They use the materials they prepare with technological tools and equipment in learning environments. MEF Tech, computer laboratories, tablet computers, technological equipment in the classroom are actively used.

MEF Schools Technology and Innovation Center (MEF Tech) was established to enable our students to translate the knowledge they learn in the classroom and in daily life into concrete products and to make applications. The knowledge that our students have learned is not only theoretical, but our students have the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice.

MEF Tech area is used for information technologies courses, activities and clubs as well as STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities by other branch teachers.

MEF Tech area consists of Makerspace (creation workshops), Mac lab, coding station, Lego robotics station, robotics station with line following and sumo robots, Green Box mini studio and library.
